Game Design II

The content for this class was based on a Game Jam scenario. We were assigned the Theme of “side  effects“.  The  first thing I thought of was taking pills and how they have side effects even though they can help  us they can hurt us as well.

The idea I went with was based on a red and blue pill that gave the player abilities.  The red pill gave the player the ability to fire a projectile at the cost life.  The  Blue pill would temporarily slow down the fast moving enemies at the cost of a chunk of life. You had to manage your depleting life force and find a way out before you died from the effects of the pills.

Every room had two doors with a separate key hidden in the room which opened the appropriate door. Along the way there was health  items which the player could pick up to help  mitigate the damage that was being done to them by the pills and enemies.
